Larissa Coulas

Pembroke, ON

Larissa Coulas (she/her) recently graduated from the University of Waterloo's Honours Environment and Business program. Originally raised on the traditional land of the Algonquin people (Pembroke, Ontario), Larissa grew up exploring the province's natural lakes and forests, spending a lot of time in Algonquin Park. As a child, she was a part of the city's Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee, providing a student voice to local issues. These experiences and familial influences led to a passion for nature and wildlife.

Larissa has gained valuable work experience in a variety of roles and will be using the skills she has acquired in this new opportunity. Working with the Keep Your Head Up Foundation as an Outreach Coordinator, Larissa focused on community education, empowerment and connection. Having worked for the Region of Peel in a waste management role, Larissa is excited to be exploring the policy and climate change side of the municipal government. She looks forward to working on the Climate Action plan and hopes she can influence some positive change in the community.
