Faure Makarios Noabessi Talla

Faure (he/him/il) is a bilingual (French and English) second-year MSc candidate in
Environmental Engineering at Carleton University, specializing in Climate Change. His research bridges climate policy and the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with a focus on equitable and sustainable solutions to global environmental challenges. He holds a BSc in Geography and a professional MSc in Environmental Planning and Territorial Development. Faure is proficient in qualitative, quantitative, and mixed-method research methodologies, which consider ethical and EDI principles.

Since 2019, Faure has built a diverse professional portfolio across Canada and internationally. He has worked as a consultant in government, private, and non-profit sectors, contributing to projects in land use planning, community engagement in forest management, renewable energy regulation, and residential wastewater treatment. Notably, Faure served as Assistant Project Manager with the African Development Bank on the PRESIBALT program, a regional initiative aimed at strengthening the resilience of socio-economic systems in the Lake Chad Basin (Cameroon, Chad, Niger, Nigeria, Central African Republic). His work supported efforts to combat land degradation and deforestation, conserve biodiversity, and promote renewable and low-carbon energy solutions.

With a solid academic foundation and diverse professional experience, coupled with a history of Interdisciplinary collaboration, multinational teams and diverse local communities, Faure is well-equipped to contribute meaningfully to addressing environmental challenges and advancing a more sustainable and inclusive future.

Outside of his academic and professional work, Faure enjoys playing soccer, discovering new cuisines, and spending time with family and friends.
